The occurrence

On 28 April 2015, the fishing vessel FREDERIKE C-2 caught on fire off Rimouski, Quebec. The crew abandoned into a liferaft and were later rescued by the fishing vessel MARIE-KARINE D. The Canadian Coast Guard vessel CAP PERCE was dispatched to assist. The vessel later sank at position 48°28.74′N - 068°36.85′W. Minor pollution was observed in the vicinity of the wreck. No injuries were reported.

The occurrence

On 3 April 2015, the bulk carrier CWB MARQUIS went aground in the vicinity of the Pointe Fortier anchorage area below the Beauharnois locks, on the St. Lawrence Seaway, after a large ice floe came into contact with the vessel and pushed the vessel to the shore. The vessel was refloated the same day with the assistance of two tugs. No injuries, or pollution, but some minor damage to the vessel was reported.

The occurrence

On 09 March 2015, the fishing vessel Four Ladies 2003, with 3 people on board, reported a crew member overboard 15 nautical miles south of Cape Sable Island, Nova Scotia. The fishing vessel 3 P's and a PA recovered the person, and rescue specialists from the Canadian Coast Guard Cutter Spray went on board to provide assistance. The person was transferred to an ambulance at West Head wharf, Nova Scotia, but was pronounced deceased at hospital.
